The hearing assessments at the nursing homes were carried out as planned, and collaboration with the various units worked well. Individual reports were prepared for each nursing home and also shared with local hearing associations affiliated with the relevant institutions. Stadig flere i den eldre befolkningen benytter nå høreapparater, og stadig flere mottar nå enten kommunal hjemmebasert omsorg i form av hjemmesykepleie, eller at de blir bosatt på sykehjem pga. økt hjelpebehov, både fysisk og psykisk. Dette innebærer også at den eldre befolkningen i større grad blir avhengig av bistand til vedlikehold og bruk av høreapparater.
