HEARING AID

Good maintenance of hearing aids is necessary to get optimal benefit from these small aids.
By keeping the microphone, sound output and earplugs free of earwax, dirt and condensation, your hearing aids will function well for a long time. You will be able to participate in conversations with other people more easily.
There are therefore various service products you can use to maintain your hearing aids.

What service products are available?

Products Audioplus Oppdal.jpg

There are many different types of hearing aids, but there are essentially three main types:

  • Behind the ear hearing aid with standard tube with attached molded earplug.

  • Behind the ear hearing aids with receiver tube with connected dome or molded earplug

  • In-the-ear hearing aids that are molded to fit the ear canal or have a dome attached.

Depending on the type of hearing aid you have, you will need access to the following service products:

  • The right type of batteries for hearing aids that are not charged via their own charging station.

  • The right type of filter to protect against earwax, dirt and condensation from the ear canals.

  • Correctly sized domes that hold the hearing aid in place in the ear canal.

  • Cleaning wipes with ethanol that can be used to clean domes, molded ear plugs or charging station.

  • Standard hoses or thin hoses that are replaced before hoses in use become brittle, tough and yellow.

  • Cleaning cup, cleaning tablets and earplug blower for cleaning domes or molded earplugs used with standard tubing or thin tubing.

  • Various cleaning brushes for cleaning microphone inputs on hearing aids or the sound channel and ventilation channel in molded earplugs.

  • Drying tablets for use in the charging station or drying cup to prevent condensation and moisture from entering vital parts of the hearing aids or receiver tubes.

  • Battery tests to see if the batteries still have power or not. This is especially nice to have for relatives who assist parents or other family members with changing batteries.
