Phonak and Hansaton are phasing out the CeruShield filter in favor of the CeruStop filter

We would like to inform you about an important change from the hearing aid manufacturers Phonak and Hansaton that may affect you as a hearing aid user when it is time to replace the filters on your hearing aids.

Phonak and Hansaton have decided to phase out

the CeruShield filter type, which is used with what we refer to as 4.0 receivers (speaker wires). This means that CeruShield will no longer be available for purchase – either from us at AudioPlus or directly from the main supplier. (phonak.com)

What does this mean for you?

CeruShield Filter Is Being Phased Out

It will be significantly easier for you to change the filter on your hearing aids, as the CeruStop filter is a much more user-friendly solution than the CeruShield filter. Phonak’s documentation confirms that CeruStop is used with the newer 5.0 receivers, while CeruShield is used with the 4.0 receivers. (Phonak)

To use the new CeruStop filter, your hearing aids need to be upgraded from a 4.0 to a 5.0 receiver. This requires a simple receiver replacement, which can be carried out by an audiologist or by the manufacturer. (audioplus.no)
