Hunting, hearing aids and hunting radios
Autumn is here, and many are going out moose hunting these days, where hunting radios are often used to ensure good communication between the hunters on the hunting team. Using a hunting radio is not necessarily easy if you also use hearing aids, but there is now the option to connect hunting radios directly via Bluetooth to certain types of hearing aids.
In this regard, we would like to present a solution from Lyd og Tele, which states the following:
Hearing aid and hunting radioHello! We at Lyd og Tele work with radio communication on a daily basis, and every autumn we meet hunters who have the same challenge: How do I use a hunting radio when I also depend on my hearing aid? For many, the traditional earplug solution works poorly. Some remove their hearing aid to make room for the earplug, while others try different adapters, telecoils or Bluetooth solutions. The result is not always particularly practical – while of course you want to keep your hearing aid on while hunting. We therefore want to share information about a new hunting radio that may be interesting to many who use hearing aids. Hunter F67 – Bluetooth direct to compatible hearing aidsHunter F67 is a new hunting radio with Bluetooth Classic and support for, among other things, HFP (Hands-Free Profile). Interestingly for hearing aid users, several hearing aids also support Bluetooth Classic/HFP. On compatible models, this allows the hearing aid to be paired directly with the hunting radio, allowing the radio sound to be heard through the hearing aid without a traditional earpiece. Among the hearing aids where manufacturers document relevant Bluetooth Classic/HFP technology, we find several models and generations from Phonak, including:
Some hearing aids from brands such as Signia, Unitron and Hansataon also use Bluetooth Classic/HFP. Bluetooth is not just BluetoothJust because a hearing aid has Bluetooth doesn't necessarily mean it can be connected directly to a hunting radio. Hearing aids can use different Bluetooth standards and protocols, including Bluetooth Classic/HFP, Bluetooth Low Energy, MFi, ASHA, and LE Audio. We therefore do not want to promise that Hunter F67 will work with all hearing aids. If one of your users is a hunter and has challenges with the combination of hearing aids and hunting radio, you are most welcome to advise them about this option. You are welcome to contact us directly and provide the manufacturer and exact model of your hearing aid, and we will investigate the Bluetooth specifications and whether it may be appropriate to try it together with the Hunter F67. We at AudioPlus also want to encourage all hunters who go hunting to use hearing protection in the form of either earmuffs or molded active noise plugs, which protect your hearing from harmful gunshot noise. This is especially important for those of you who already have hearing loss and may use hearing aids. Take care of your remaining hearing, even when you go hunting. |

Do you want assistance in finding good molded active noise suppressors with the possibility of communication via hunting radio ?
We negotiate and provide, among other things:
You can have your hearing aid made and ordered at one of our audiology clinics in AudioPlus.
