Is it hard to hear when the stove alarm in the kitchen sounds, or when someone rings the doorbell? Many hearing losses lie in the frequency range where alarms are heard. This means that alarms from machines in the home or workplace, fire alarms, alarm clocks or doorbells can be difficult to hear.
Did you know that there are different types of hearing aids? There are different types of alerts for people with hearing impairments. In the home, there may be a need for fire alarm or doorbell alerts. It is important to map out the need for alert systems in the home. Not only for the person with hearing impairments, but for the safety of family and immediate neighbors. If you are hearing impaired, it is necessary to be alerted in ways other than just using sound.
There is a special bed vibrator that notifies you with vibration about events such as fire or someone ringing the doorbell. It is placed under the pillow or bed mattress. In the event of a fire, it notifies you with a strong vibration. It can also be connected to an alarm clock and baby monitor.
Another aid notifies with light, text, symbol, sound and voice message about events such as fire or doorbell. It distinguishes between serious events, defined as alarms, and everyday events, such as doorbell, baby monitor and telephone
People with hearing impairments may also need aids to hear speech on TV, or extra assistance in hearing conversations in demanding listening situations. There are many good solutions.
