Molded earplugs for hearing aids

Molded earmolds for hearing aids are custom-made inserts made to fit precisely in the user's ear canal and/or auricle. They are used to ensure good sound quality, comfort, and to avoid feedback. There are different types of molded earmolds depending on the user's needs, the type and degree of hearing loss, and preferences for comfort and aesthetics.

Good reasons to try molded earplugs instead of universal earplugs:

• Itching in the ear canals
• The dome slips out of the ear canal
• Poor dexterity
• Severe hearing loss
• A lot of earwax
• Allergy

Essentially, there are these main types of molded earplugs intended for hearing aids:

• Generic earplug: Fits Behind-the-Ear Hearing Aids with standard tubing
• Custom earplug: Fits Behind-the-Ear Devices with receiver tube or thin tube
• Ceramic earplug or Titanium earplug: Suitable for users who experience allergies in the ear canals.

The earplug design is chosen in collaboration with an audiologist and is individually adapted according to needs, conditions in the auricle and ear canal, and the nature of the hearing loss.
